UPDATE: February 29, 2008
Below is another update from our web hosting company. They are now
saying that they will have the recovered data today and then their
team will begin restoring data to our server. I've been talking
with them about this extensively and hope that the end is in sight.
I know that this is frustrating and that many are going through
Message
Board withdrawal so be sure to check out the Members
Only section of the NOMOTC website. If you have burning questions
for the group please feel free to email me and I will get your questions
to the appropriate people.

We have recently encountered issues with the mySQL server that your
databases are utilizing. On Sunday, February 17, 2008, our System
Administration team took the mySQL server offline for scheduled
maintenance and while they were performing this maintenance, they
found that one of the hard drives was failing. Our team worked as
quickly as they could to preserve as much data as possible.
Our System Administrators were able to save, and restore, approximately
80% of the data. We realize that 80% is not acceptable, therefore,
we have sent the failed drive to a data recovery specialist. They
have stated that they should be able to recover 95 - 100% of the
data by Friday, February 29, 2008. It will take this long due to
the damage to the drive and the amount of data on it. At that time,
our System Administration team will do a complete backup of the
current data on your mySQL server and then begin restoring the data
we received from the data recovery specialist. We are going to make
a current complete backup in case you have uploaded content since
the hard drive failure. We will be prepared to do a restore, if
needed, of this content.
We are very sorry about the inconvenience that you have suffered
due to this incidence. We are providing compensation to our customers
that have been adversely affected by this occurrence. Please place
a ticket to our billing department and they will review your request
as quickly as possible.
Thank you very much for your patience and understanding,

It looks like theMessage
Board will not be back until Thursday, February 28th. Please
see the message below from our hosting company. If you have any
questions please feel free to email me at web@mainlinemoms.com.
----------
We kindly ask you to keep patience until Thursday, February 28,
2008 because the experts are still working to restore all possible
data.
We want to assure you though that we will never let this happen
again as we have taken certain measures already to prevent this
kind of accidents from happening in future, we will set brand new
backup system which will allow to have backups on remote site. We
kindly ask you to give us some time to advance monitoring on the
server and to implement appropriate changes.
We value your time and business and appreciate that you handed a
part of it to us. We can definitely state that we will justify your
expectations and meet all your requirements as far as it concerns
our hosting service. We hope for your understanding and cooperation
in this matter. Thank you.
Should you have any further questions please let us know we are

UPDATE: February 20, 2008
It looks like theMessage
Board will not be back until Thursday morning. Please see the
email below from our hosting company:
------
Please accept our apologies. We understand how difficult it is for
you when data is lost and we treat such rare situations very seriously.
Please allow me to explain what happened and let you know how we
will be correcting this.
On Sunday, our Systems Administrators took your mySQL server offline
for scheduled preventative maintenance. While performing this maintenance,
they realized that one of the hard drives were failing. When a hard
drive begins to fail, we must act quickly as this is a critical
time for data, and our admins did what they could to preserve as
much as possible. We were able to save 80% of the data on that drive,
however, that leaves an unacceptable 20% corrupted.
Rest assured that the integrity of your data is very important
to us, and we have sent this failed drive to a data recovery specialist
who tells us that they expect to be able to recover 100% of the
data. This recovered data should be returned to us by early Thursday
morning. The moment we receive it, we will do a complete backup
of the current data on your MySQL server, then we will restore your
data, in it's entirety, as it was when the drive went down. If you
have acquired new data since Sunday, please let us know so that
we can take appropriate steps to ensure that data is restored correctly
as well..
Thank you for your patience and understanding,

Our web hosting company has informed me that they are having problems
with the server our message board is on. This issue had been caused
by the mysql server's urgent unscheduled maintenance that has taken
place recently. They are working to correct the problem and expect
a resolution within the next day. You may not be able to access
our Message
Board at this time. I apologize for any inconvenience. I will
update this page as soon as I hear the problem is corrected.
